Multi-User Web Chat System Features Live A/V Communication,

LOS ANGELES (Oct. 27, 2004) – Bringing an unprecedented level of interaction to online community members via live audio/visual communication Userplane (www.userplane.com), a pioneer in developing innovative Web applications, today announced a new version of its multi-user Web text chat room system.
Userplane Web Chat Version 1.5 features streaming audio and video through the Flash MX-based client, mini-profile, a user-image display and the flexible Flash interface. The new version enables users to watch and listen to other members in the current room. A simple in-out icon lets users know who is watching and listening at any given moment.
Concurrently, Userplane also released its Instant Communicator 1.8, featuring new smilies, flood control, and a ‘Who’s Typing’ activity indicator. This Flash instant messaging tool provides live text and audio/video instant messaging to myriad online communities, supporting over 3.5 million conversations a month.
Userplane’s new Web chat capabilities are the result of extensive customer interactions from online dating and social networking sites, as well as feedback from corporate clients who employ the technology for internal corporate meetings and online classrooms. With audio and video, Userplane’s chat system can easily facilitate point-to-multipoint online presentations.
