Couples modification for dating business software

Well, it's Feb 22 and I'm not seeing any new postings on these questions. I too require fully functional couples profiles. So what's the good word? Has it been added yet?

I have about a 60 day window to launch this site, so I need to make decisions rather quickly.

I either need to have the couples modification coded in or find another product. I like AeDating quite a bit.

If anyone is serious at maybe splitting costs on this modification, please let me know. I believe the rough estimate in presales a few months ago was $500.00 to code.

I certainly wouldn't mind sharing the price, but I thought the $500 only covered adding the extra fields for a second person in the profile. I'm looking at two other packages (so far, this is my favorite), so I'd need to get a good estimate of what the total price would be, including member verification, event listings, etc. (the other stuff mentioned earlier in this post).

My other concern is that if we get a lot of customization done on this, will we still qualify for lifetime upgrades?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't need any sophisticated matchmaking capabilities; therefore, adding the extra fields in the profiles shouldn't be a big deal. I suspect that our clientele mostly searches by distance, sex (male, female, couple) and maybe age. From there they browse. A keyword search would be nice too. I can see how age searches might create a some extra work for the programmers. However, even if it only offered search for one person in the couple (like maybe just the female), it would still be helpful.

I like the new events module (still not quite sure why it's part of "speed dating"). My only suggestions are: 1. That you can turn off the ticket sales option. 2. That only members with a certain membership level can post events. 3. That people can put themselves on a list of attendees (bonus: a thumbnail of the person/couple attending).

Oh and one more thing: I would really like the chance to interactively work with the administration panel demo. Just looking at images doesn't give me a good feel of how flexible this system is.

Only administrator of the site is able to add events with Admin panel.

In new 'Events' module you can just notice that 'party' would be free, but unfortunately it doesn't have possibility to notice it by functionality. So if your event would be without actual ticket sales your members will be unavailable to let you know they will take a part. With ticket sales - you will know how is going as you will know who bought your tickets.

We have accepted this lack of possibilities and will try to add this and other additional options to our speed dating module. This one is just our first sign.

Regarding the events module, only allowing the admin to post is fine for the time being, but eventually it would be nice to have a membership level with very restricted administrative rights. These would be offered to club owners.

I think there may be some confusion as to what the events module is used for on a swingers site. The webmaster/website owner isn't actually throwing the event (at least not usually). The event is typically being thrown by an outside club (and it's rarely free). The outside club has their own way of selling tickets and a secondary ticket system just makes things more difficult. In other words, on a swingers site, a ticket system is never needed unless the site itself is throwing the party. Even then, I wouldn't need the ticketing system because I already have my own (this may not be the case with the other webmasters here).

However, an attendance list would be very helpful. With an attendance list, each member can put themselves on a list (usually located right under the event details) if they plan on attending the event. This isn't the same as a reservation. It's just a way for other people to see who may be attending the party. Having the username on the list is good, but what would be very desirable is having the username and a thumbnail of their profile photo.

Your product is my chosen option - however the dateopia product already is couple ready - and many of our subscribers will be couples. So it leaves me two choices 1) go elsewhere or 2) Gamble and hope that the delay is not too long....

I see 3.3 is now out - but sadly I can't purchase without the couples profiles - I can't keep delaying, so if you think it is going to be some time away, then, I will have to go elsewhere - which is a great shame, as I actually prefer aeDating (depite the fact that you delete my questions in this forum )

I have been following this thread with great interest. I am hopeing the couples function will not be limited to just that. I would hope that while the coders are working on it they consider a more flexible system to cope with families & groups etc such as 'Profile groups' ('profile linking'). Not for swingers sites though for sports teams looking to play other teams, fammilies looking to meet other families for outings, vacations etc & for all you swingers our there, groups to meet other groups

I would invisage the signup of 'Profile groups' as follows...

• creating a 'group': A new button 'Link to profile' is created on each members profile as with 'contact' and 'Send kiss' etc. This button send an invitation to be 'Linked' to another member. If the other member accepts, the two members are shown as 'linked' [group members/family members].
  
• viewing a 'group' 1: the 'search' boxes include 'groups' as a search criteria. this will return members of groups only (that fit any advanced search criterior too).
  
• Viewing a 'group' 2: every profile has an icon indicating if they are single, couple, group. if this is icon is clicked then thier profile displayes a first/previous/next/last pagination icons that cycles through the list of linked 'members'.
  
  IMHO: I do not imagin this is so hard to code as it is only links and a key or two in the database and I think it would be far easier than recreating the profile system just to display a couple.
  

further thoughts: I would also consider extending the group creation a little further: anyone may be a part of unlimited groups... When in viting another member to be part of your group to are promted to create a new group name OR a select an existing group name they are currently members of, such as 'my Family' & 'My golf team' etc.
the recipient then may choose whether to accept the invitation to that members 'family', 'golf team' or even 'swingers group' etc.

I think 'Groups' as new step in membership would be very good next step for aeDating improvement.

Of course, it hasn't been planned for coming version release but we will consider it and undoubtedly make a records for next versions.

'Groups' is the feature that would be usefull in various directions of aeDaing powered websites.

Couple profiles improvement for aeDating is quite ready (for about 80%)... There some search engine optimization for this improvement remained and we hope that Cople profiles will be fully implemented in new coming version that is planned for first part of July. Thank you for keeping in touch
