"Approval" Profile Status disables user functions

I've noticed, on the 0Dating and aeDating sites, that when I make a small change to my profile, the profile is put into "Approval" status. At that point, I am unable to do searches, send messages, etc.. Can this be changed in the configuration? I think it is unacceptable for the software to cause a user to be "dead in the water" until the profile is approved.

What should happen is, the user's new profile is saved in a "pending" file, at which time he can continue to use his existing (unchanged) profile to go on about his business of doing searches, contacting other members, etc.. the administrator checks out the pending profile, and if approved, it becomes the active profile. Does this make sense to anyone? We shouldn't inconvenience users who *already have an approved profile* by making them wait for approval of a change.

Yes, you are right. If an active or suspended member makes changes in the profile his/her profile will also get into Approval category. The changes that incur profile status change are the following:
- Changes in any text fields (those where a member can type in);
- Photos change or new photos upload.

This is made for particular purposes.

In the process of profiles approving you check whether uploaded photos and text entered in text fields meet the requirements of your site policies. In case the content of a profile does not violate your site’s rules you will change the status to Active.

Uli, thanks for the reply, but perhaps you missed my point.

I already know that the software disables user functions when the profile is in "approval" status. This attribute of the software is unacceptable, and it is what I would like to change.

I don't want "auto-approval" of user profile changes. Any change to user profiles should be subject to administrator review, to ensure that the changes are in line with policy.

What I want is: the capability of the software to save user profile changes in a temporary or pending file for the administrator's review and approval. During the time that the user's profile is awaiting approval by the admins, the user will still be using his existing profile (not the pending one), so he can continue to use the system normally.

Perhaps this is not a current capability of the aeDating software. In that case, please treat this as a feature request.
